when there's nothing to study...

...i tend to either spend a lot of time in front of the tv watching movies (i've seen atonement, enchanted, wild hogs, fantastic four, august rush, waitress, and reign over me) or a lot of time in the kitchen making food for eugene. it may have been from watching waitress, but i got the pie baking bug in me again. so...after a nice grilled cheese and salad lunch, i went and made a lemon meringue pie. not as professional looking as say...marie callendars, but good enough for mr. wong!

spring break

after a long quarter and a rough half semester, eugene and i headed north for spring break. typically, people head south to places like florida or mexico, but we thought we'd hang out in the cold instead. we saw some amazing scenery, drove through the back country, visited with our friends the tuans, braved through a mini snow storm, and still managed to get home in one piece. most importantly though, we got to visit eugene, oregon...a main destination of our brief road trip. it was a very college-town type of town, very quiet, very cold. and to our dismay, very without "eugene oregon" gear. everything was centered around oregon state insead of the town. :( s'ok though, at least we got to take plenty of pictures of the various "eugene" signs. hopefully, we'll get to visit eugene and the oregon coast again soon. maybe with our dear friends the tuans. :)

eugene hit gold!

while walking around school on the way to our car, we ran into one of eugene's professors who gave us some good news. she entered eugene's project from last semester into a contest...and eugene may have won! she invited us to the sf club of litho annual awards dinner to find out. once there, eugene and i had a lot of fun looking at the other submissions. apparently, it was mostly professional work, with a small amount of student work. the professional stuff was very impressive! i was mainly drawn to a booklet on heart failure. :P dinner was okay...typical stuff for us vegetarians...just pasta with sauce and shrimp on top! blah! we had to send our food back to get just pasta and sauce on top. since when did vegetarian mean we eat shrimp? go figure... at the end of the night, the long awaited annoucement was made...eugene won! and, no only did he win, he hit gold!

stick a fork in me, cuz i'm done!

it's quite hard to believe, but i am finally finally done with all my classes! i didn't think it'd ever happen, but alas...stick a fork in me! i'm done! well, at least, with classes. i'll start rotations on march 31 and it'll last a whole calendar year (boo hoo...no more long breaks). after all these years, i'm finally approaching the goal. i'm going to be an official drug dealer soon!

to celebrate, we SHaGS went out for dinner, hung out, shared some last laughs together...and cherished some tears. it's only goodbye for now as both S's move down south, but we'll get to see each other again very very soon!
