eventful weekend

finally, some time for us to "enjoy" our summer. we watched the dark knight on saturday and we were completely blown away! we would highly recommend the movie to everyone. it was a bit dark here and there, but overall, we loved it. so much that we went home and watched the 60s movie "batman the movie" with adam west and bruce ward. now i can understand why snl came up with "the ambigously gay duo." quite funny.

since the weather was so great, we drove south in the afternoon to half moon bay to walk along the beach. it was a bit windy, but we had a lot of fun walking and watching people para-gliding. one guy even crashed into the cliff because it was so windy. too bad we didn't catch it on video. :P

sunday was pretty relaxing. i woke up craving dim sum so we got some vegetarian dim sum from the big lantern in the mission. sooooooooooooooo good! sooooooooooooooo filling. we ate so much...we must've gained two pounds of fat!

ever so busy

we are ever so busy these days. so busy in fact that we hardly have time to update things in our blog for everyone to see. since we last checked in...

* i started a new rotation at elephant pharmacy in berkeley. it's a retail pharmacy and something i've never done before, so it took quite a while to get used to. i'm glad to say that i'm finally adjusted to the environment and will be able to finish in one piece.

* we got a new couch! it's quite a nice looking piece of furniture and it makes our apartment look more like an adult's apartment now. pictures will be posted soon!

* eugene got a bicycle! he gets really into it with fixing it and making it perfect for himself. with the way gas prices are nowadays and the gas guzzler of a car he has, he decided that it would be best to ride a bicycle to school starting this fall. this way, he saves money on gas and gets a bit of exercise in as well.

* we are coming up on our one year wedding anniversary. it's going to be a weekend of fun for the two of us. we haven't fully decided what we'll do yet, but we will definitely be getting out of the city to enjoy some time together.

hopefully that updates you on everything we've been doing. be sure to drop us a line or two to let us know how you're doing!

DAT was okay

Dine About Town in SF happened twice this year! last time, we went to Poleng Lounge (a multi-course meal that had us craving for more). this time...it was off to prana. a huge building that's a restaurant by day, club by night. we didn't know quite to expect when we walked through the huge mirror doors into a dimly lit room. nearly everything was white except for the asian motifs along the walls and in various places throughout the room. we had plenty of food to choose from. we picked two different appetizers and an entree dish. our first round of appetizers were de-lish! yam fritters and eggplant. yum! second round...eh. salads are usually a good blend of various vegetables and fruits. sometimes...just sometimes...a mixture just doesn't go well together. that's what we got. the naan pizza was okay. our entrees...one better than the other. guess which one was better by the pictures. let's just put it this way...bright green sauce...sometimes not quite so tasty. all in all...we enjoyed a few dishes out of the six...and we wouldn't tell our friends to go there for the food. maybe just the drinks.

flowers and butterflies

last summer, we joined the sf parks trust and got four free tickets to the sf conservatory of flowers in golden gate park. we waited and waited and finally found not only some free time, but a nice sunday afternoon for a nice time among flowers and butterflies.

point reyes getaway

finally, eugene's done with school for the year and i get a three-day weekend break from rotations. to celebrate? we went to point reyes to have some hiking/outdoors fun. we stayed at a really cute swedish bed and breakfast called lingonberry farm with yummy swedish eggs and swedish pancakes for breakfast. yum-my! saturday was a little gloomy, but that didn't stop us from heading outside. we climbed down (and up) the over 300 stairs to the point reyes lighthouse, hiked along the headlands to chimney rock, and strolled along the beach. the road to the chimney rock trailhead had no fences keeping the cows in, so they came right up to the car! we could've petted them if we wanted to...if we wanted to. then, when we got back to our bed and breakfast, a deer walked right underneath our patio! it was so sweet! on sunday, the sun FINALLY came out, so we headed on out to tomales bay and walked down to mcclures beach. all-in-all, it was a fun and relaxing weekend. can't wait to go back!

eugene...the frat boy!

eugene was inducted into quite a prestigious honors fraternity this past friday. for his artistic hand, crafty designs, and very high gpa (and a small fee), he became a member of ept. now...what in the world does ept stand for? think greek...not commercials.

before initiation, we had a pleasant lunch (vegetarian pasta again) at sfsu, yummy dessert, and hung out with eugene's classmates. then, all new initiates were lined up and slowly invited into the "initiation room." we non-ept peeps weren't allowed in. after all the ceremonial stuff was over, eugene was presented with a nice pin, certificate, and an extra thing to put on his resume. :)
